One day last week I began wondering why leaves were disappearing off my "T*psy T*rvy" tomato plant at light speed (which I had diligently watered and watched over for over a month now). I even went so far as to move the plant off the front porch and onto the screened in back porch to protect it from any night prowling animals like deer, rabbits, birds, etc. Then, the leaves were still being munched and the poop was still appearing below the plant on even the back porch! On the advice of my friend Julie, I discovered not just 1 "horned worm" but 14 that were TAKING OVER my entire plant. Here's what's left of that said tomato plant and some pics of the creatures that caused all my trouble.
Boy, I just love it when these green, ugly things ruin all my hard work! Someone did tell me they are called "hummingbird moths". I love the hummingbirds, but I could do without these worms!
I suppose I'll pay better attention to my plants from now on!
